Saturday, October 16, 2022 was a beautiful day for Our Annual Friends of the Poor Walk which took place at the field next to St. Mark Church, 31 Poplar Drive in Cranston! Thanks to your generosity, we surpassed our $10,000 goal to help friends in need! The monies raised go directly back to the conference and community the donors chose to support! The Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves their local neighbors in need with basic necessities like food, clothing, rental assistance, heating, and so much more. We are able to do what we do through the generosity of people like you!

We had music, food, and family fun! While the DJ played some tunes, the kids enjoyed pumpkin painting, played games, and so much more! It was a team effort! Our set-up crew were up at the crack of dawn. Steve Brayer, member of the Walk Committee and Vincentian from St. Brendan’s Conference helped lead charge at the registration table supported by other Vincentian Volunteers. Our SVDP Next Gen teens helped run the games. The Saugy Hot Dogs were grilled up nice by Rev. Richard A. Donnelly Council K.O.C. Special thanks to all of our amazing sponsors, community partners, and volunteers!

Thank you for coming out and taking a STEP to end poverty! We can’t wait for next year’s walk, as we will be celebrating 170 years of serving Rhode Island families in need!
