Local Conferences

SVDP Rhode Island comprises a statewide Council, five districts, 27 parish-based conferences, and one statewide youth conference. Use the tabs below to find local services, including conferences, food pantries, meal sites, and holiday aid.  Note: Some conferences of SVDP Rhode Island operate clothing closets. Call ahead to find out if the conference closest to you offers clothing. Choice is often limited at these closets, and proper sizes may not be available. For acute clothing needs, contact our administrative office at 401-490-0822 so we can talk about providing a voucher for the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Plainville, MA.

Conferences of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are composed of Vincentian volunteers who serve those in need in their local communities.  At the heart of what we do is the “home visit,” so don’t be surprised if Vincentians ask to meet in your home (they will always arrive in pairs). Most of our conferences offer the range of basic needs assistance from rent and security deposits to assistance with medical and utility bills. Some have food pantries or meal sites, while others provide holiday assistance.
