To better follow our Vincentian vocation, it is crucial that we learn to speak and understand the “language of poverty” and the “hidden rules” of class. This seminar is a fascinating treatment of a subject that we deal with daily, yet we have very little understanding of. Sometime during this seminar, we will all have an “AHA moment” in which we will begin to understand why we, the middle class, act and speak as we do and why those in poverty act and speak as they do. This epiphany will make us all better Vincentians and better people.
This seminar will be presented by our Vice-President for Systemic Change, Paul Fisette. It is recommended that attendees acquire and read the book, “Bridges Out of Poverty” prior to the seminar, but this is not required. If you choose to do so, the book can be obtained HERE.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS SESSION IS NOT CLOSED!
