Advent Leadership Retreat

Through liturgy, prayer, reflection and silence, we will explore the characteristics of St. Paul’s leadership style, which he describes in I Corinthians 9:22: “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” Once again, we return to St. Edmund’s Retreat, Enders Island, Mystic for our day together.

The registration deadline is Friday, December 2, 2016. This is a hard deadline in order to accommodate St. Edmund’s. No registrations will be accepted after this date. 

Who May Attend?

Presidents and spiritual advisors only. The role of the president is unique in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. According to our Rule, presidents are the only elected leaders (others are appointed by presidents) and as such bear special practical and spiritual responsibilities. Spiritual advisors are appointed to help presidents fulfill their role. We would like the president (or designated replacement) and spiritual advisor of every conference to be in attendance. In the event that a conference or district president cannot attend, he or she may designate another conference officer to attend in his/her place.

8:30 am: Check-in
9:00 am: Mass in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption
9:30 am: Coffee/pastry in St. Michael’s Hall
10:15 am: First session
11:45 am: Silence
12:30 pm: Lunch in Enders House dining room
1:30 pm: Second session in St. Michael’s Hall
2:45 pm: Silence
3:30 pm: Sharing and close
4:00 pm: Depart Enders Island
